I have downloaded the tomtom speed camera and red light camera ov2 files and placed them in the \copilot\au\save folder on mt tytn ii. when the program started in imported the files but the program will not display the POI warnings.
The files work ok using Tomtom on the same pda, any clues what I am doing wrong?
This is how I have managed to enable full Safety camera alerts in Copilot Live 7 on my HTC:
1. Go to http://www.gps-data-team.com/pda-gps-navigation/topic/705.html to download safety camera files for TomTom (.ov2 and .bmp)
2. Make sure the word "safetycam" is in the file name somewhere with every safety camera file (e.g. safetycam_Speed Cameras.ov2)
3. Save downloaded POI files in the following directory: Storage Card\COPILOT\EU\SAVE
4 Restart Copilot to automagically install new files.
5. Go to the Setting -> Safety camera tab and enable Safety Camera alerts.
Thank you very much. I can confirm that this works with the new version 9 of Copilot Live Premium HD for my iPad 2.
I had to use iExplorer to gain access to the iPad's Copilot folder.
Only difference is the directory structure is I had to go to:
Copilot Live / DOCUMENTS / NA / Save
Renamed the .Ov2 and .bmp with safetycam in the name, reopened Copilot live, and BAM, it recognized the POI's and gave me full access to Safety Cameras in the settings menu. Before doing this, my Safety Camera option was grayed out and I couldn't access it at all. A Rep from the Copilot forums said they don't support safety cameras in the USA. BALOGNA!!!
Looks like I spoke too soon... So all seemed to import properly and I could enable the safety cameras in the menu as I said above, but I am not being alerted at all and there is no POI showing on the map of the red light cameras in my area. I just drove by like 4 of them in different locations... nothing. Any ideas?
FYI, I downloaded the all in one "USA safety cameras" file.
A tiny update. The new Copilot Live Premium seems to be able to find TT POIs (.ov2 format) even if they are just dropped in the root of the SD card.
It is a nice feature, but do not put too many POI files there, or you may struggle with sorting them, as the format converter of Copilot is not overly intuitive...
IT is easy as well. Put a corresponding BMP file in the same directory as the poi file (SD card, Copilot directory, "Save" subdirectory), then choose the icon when Copilot starts importing this POI.

Updated to 9.4.0.254 .. Yet to figure out how to add icons for the poi groups...
I used a bitmap icon copied from POI web page in this site, the page preceding selection of the platform. It showed up as one of icons which you select when creating a new category of POI. The same icon appeared on the map denoting these POI.
In particular, I used a mobile speed camera icon from this web site: http://poi.gps-data-team.com/_safety/
Never tried a different size. Have a look at it for more details.
Incidentally the icon had the same name as the ov2 file, just the extension was different. It was installed in the same time as the ov2 file. I don't think i is important though.
Don't forget, it goes into the directory of copilot on the SD card, subdirectory "Save". You need to restart Copilot then, i.e. it has to go through the welcome screen again.
