Back in '08 I downloaded POI's for speed cameras and such for our trip to Germany. Everything worked out great!
Fast forward 9 years... we're heading to Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, Iceland and France in less than two weeks. I wanted to load up our old Garmin with the speed cameras, red light cameras and so forth. It's been a long time since I've messed with this, so maybe my memory is bad.
* Have we always had to combine 3 files together and use the POI loader? I don't recall doing that years ago. There's the option to download the GPI file (which I guess already has them all combined), but was that always an extra pay option?
* On the download page, why am I not seeing audio files for most POIs? For instance, the Germany all-in-one POI, Red light speed camera in Luxembourg, Mobil speed camera in Belgium, etc etc. Do I not need them?
I just want to make sure I do this right... it's not like I can test it before hand.
Hi skaskawitz,
You can easily create a new MP3, or use any already downloaded MP3 POI file. Just rename it to have the same name as your POI file.
Regards
Right now, all the files are in the same folder on my desktop.
Camera-DE (all three file extensions)
Mobile_Speed_Camera-BE (all three file extensions)
Red_Light_Camera-BE (all three file extensions)
so on and so forth.
When using POI Loader, is it OK that it's grabbing all those files in that folder and merging it into one POI file (POI.gpi) on the Garmin?
Or, should I create separate folders on the desktop for each type/county and load them up with POI Loader with unique names?
