| Posted by vinsons4 Garmin voices In case you're bored with listening to the Garmin voice that come pre-loaded with your Garmin and tired of the repetitive 'recalculating' you might like to try listening instead to Dr Nightmare! Dr Nightmare speaks in a deep scary voice and certainly doesn't say 'recalculating'. Guaranteed to bring a smile to your face..! These Garmin voices are not compatible with Garmin Nuvi 300 or Nuvi 600 series though. | Posted by Mama Deags Dave Zabriskie is Great and Any Confusion is Not Warranted In response to the GUEST poster saying he was confused by Dave Zabriskie saying "Turn left, you're gonna wanna turn right here" he means at the next turn, go left, then you want to take an immediate right. It makes perfect sense. It took us a while to catch on to Dave, but now we love him...it's like traveling with an old friend. We had him on our old Garmin and just replaced ours with a new Garmin...thankfully we found Dave is still available! WHEW! Sadly, though, he doesn't make all the funny comments he used to...at least we don't think so. Anyone else notice this on the newest version of Dave Zabriskie? |

I updated from my Nuvi 500 to the Nuvi2589 (due to lack of space for the newer maps :( ) and use the Dr. Nightmare voice and moved the voice file over from the 500 to the 2589 I noticed that he no longer makes all the extra comments and the recalculating(Let me consult my magic book) that he does with the 500. Since it appears Garmin no longer has the voices and vehicles available, I'd say it may have been something with the firmware on the newer devices that the older voices no longer work as well as they used to :( |
